- Caring for Your Microfibers
Microfibers are a synthetic blend basically, a form of plastic. That means heat is the
enemy.
Always wash on cold.
Skip fabric softeners or scented detergents (they clog the fibers).
Use something like Tide Free & Gentle, or a specialized wash like Rags to Riches
or Renaissance to rejuvenate your towels.
Pro tip: Dry your towels on low or no heat to extend their life. High heat melts
the fibers, making them rougher the exact opposite of what you want.
Final Thoughts
If you’ve spent good money on professional detailing or ceramic coatings, protect
your investment with better towels. We’ve seen countless clients unintentionally
dull their finish with cheap microfiber that was either too low GSM, had edges or
tags, or was washed incorrectly.
Spend a little more on quality microfiber and treat them right your paint (and
coating) will thank you.
